Fruit Compote Loaf
Made with Fruit Compote Fruit Tisane
Bursting with the natural sweetness of our Fruit Compote tisane, this simple loaf is wonderfully moist and deeply fruity. Wonderful sliced and buttered on a cold afternoon.
Makes: One medium loaf
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup Fruit Compote Fruit Tisane
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp baking soda
Method
- Combine water, Fruit Compote Tisane and brown sugar in a saucepan. Boil for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the butter. Allow the mixture to cool until nearly cold.
- Stir in the flour and baking soda until just combined.
- Pour into a medium greased loaf tin. Bake at 180°C for 1 to 1½ hours, until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
- Cool in the tin before turning out. Slice and serve with butter.
